Compatibility
Two families today, with all their badges. The wizard recognises the make from the printer’s address and checks the model before writing anything: if the configuration is not one that has been verified, it stops.
Ricoh Supported
also Lanier, Nashuatec, Gestetner, Rex-Rotary
Ricoh multifunction printers whose address book can be edited from a browser, with the Web Image Monitor panel: in practice the Aficio and MP models of the last fifteen years, including those that write to shared folders only with SMB1.
Kyocera Supported
also UTAX, Triumph-Adler, Olivetti d-Copia
TASKalfa and ECOSYS printers with the Command Center RX web panel.
For now without a fax or internet-fax option, and without user authentication or job accounting: the wizard checks this and stops before writing anything.
What you need
- The printer reachable from the PC, on the same network.
- The web panel’s administrator user. On Ricoh it is often “admin” with an empty password; on Kyocera, from the factory, “Admin” with the password “Admin”, if nobody changed them.
- A PC with Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, that is on when people scan.
Not sure yours is one of these?
At step 2 the wizard recognises the make and model from the address, without logging in, and tells you at once whether they are supported. Getting there takes a licence with one use, but the use is spent only when the first scan reaches the PC: if the printer is not supported, it stays on the licence for the next PC.
